Great product! Researched a few products. Liked the fact it’s here in USA . Installation was simple. Instructions were easy to understand. Only wish I had a different pop rivet tool. Struts are very powerful compared to competitors. might even be able to get away with just one – even for this heavy hood – but I installed both. They are longer than competitor’s due to extended opening height option and end up closing over the battery close to the negative terminal but they do clear thanks to the hood bracket being set back. However, I did invest in a negative battery terminal cover just to be safe. Also, I did choose to mount lower brackets about an inch forward of the seamed area in a nice little notch on the fender as the bracket seemed to fit better there and I didn’t have to shave the seam seal off. Install was quick and easy and instructions were well illustrated but it took a bit to get my head around not needing to measure.

Hood struts were as advertised. Good instructions, packaged well, good quality parts and finishes. Took me about an hour to do the job once I had all the parts and tools organized. Once you do the first side and are comfortable with the install the second side takes half the time.

Much easier to install than I thought. A little freaky drilling into the hood, but just take your time. The drill bit stopper was a bit cheap and got ruined on my first hole. Love opening the hood now just to watch it raise up.

This was a great investment. Total install time from gathering tools, reading instructions through completion was about 30 min. Now when I open my hood, I literally use one finger to unhook the catch, raise the hood about 3 inches and it finishes raising on its own. In addition, I have more room to work and natural lightning cause these raise higher than the OEM prop. If you are on the fence, or considering other options let me tell you there is nothing better out there. I am hoping that Spiker develops a strut for the tailgate next.

Installed @SpikerEng hood struts yesterday. Very simple to install and function flawlessly. I was able to get an additional 4” of opening clearance even with my ditch lights.

This item was really easy to install. I recommend watching the YouTube video just to get an idea of where to place the brackets. The instructions that come with the parts are very thorough but all the pics are close up. It would be great if they could add 1 or 2 shots of the whole front of the truck, with the hood open so you can see where to add the mounts. Total time was less than an hour. The included rivets are very sturdy– my crappy old pop riveter broke during this install. No worries, always happy to purchase new tools! I’m very impressed with these struts.
